My name is John. I'm a gamer of various kinds, both tabletop and console/computer. I'm a big fan of Halo, Gears of War, Assassin's Creed, and World of Warcraft, both in its gaming functions and its the artistic details that are included. I used to enjoy Warhammer 40,000 and while I still enjoy the models, I no longer agree with the company's policies, pricing structure, barrier to entry, and rules balancing. As such, I've moved on to D&D, which still allows me room to paint models, though I admit the sculpting creativity is less prevalent. Still, I do get to enjoy creativity in the form of storytelling, which is pleasant.
I have multiple reasons for being on Deviant Art. The initial reason is because I wanted to get a friend a plushie that someone made commissions for, and I needed a way to contact this person to get it done. After that, I simply admired other people's works until I was gutsy enough to post my own work. Now I post my Warhammer 40,000 miniatures and a few miscellaneous drawings. In time, I plan to post all of my Blood Angels, and perhaps my Chaos Marine army. Finally, I might post up my Warhammer 40,000 homemade unit stats for others to view and assist me in balancing if asked for.
Additionally, I run a small blog as a hobby. The topics are varied as a result, but if anyone's up for a read...
trystt.wordpress.com/COMMISSIONS: I only do miniature painting commissions locally. If you are able to reach Brookhurst Hobbies in Garden Grove, California, then we can meet there to handle the miniature and payment. Currently I charge a minimum fee of $20 for labor and use of supplies. I may charge a few extra dollars if I am in need of a specific paint color (Though if it's only one paint that I would commonly use, it's included in the $20). Other variables might be included based on size of the miniature, time restraints, etc. Additionally, all commissions come with a complimentary dullcoat. Once I have completed the paint job, we will meet up and I will ensure you are satisfied with the paint job. If you are, I will coat it on the spot to protect the miniature from wear and tear.
